Popular comedian and Eddie Murphy’s older brother Charlie Murphy has passed away.

TMZ has reported that the 57-year-old standup comedian died from leukemia in the NYC hospital where he was being treated with chemotherapy.

His death has reportedly come as quite a surprise to his family because they had believed that he was making a recovery.

But sadly, it seems that it wasn’t so.

Charlie Murphy’s feature films were Our Family Wedding, King’s Ransom and CB4, just to name a few. And he was one of the major contributors of some of Eddie Murphy’s most popular roles such as Norbert and Vampire in Brooklyn.

But he became most popular for his roles in the Dave Chappelle Show.

He was a great comedian in his own right!

I send my condolences to the Murphy family and may Charlie Murphy rest in peace.
