Virginia Imam Preaches Female-Genital Mutilation To “Help Little Girls Tame Their Sexuality”

Female-genital mutilation is an undeniably despicable practice—and for that reason, it is illegal here in the United States and other civilized nations. Even the World Health Organization recognizes the practice of female-genital mutilation (FGM) as a violation of human rights on virtually every level for women and children.

And yet, there are still proponents of this barbaric practice in the United States.

You may have heard about the arrest of Muslim doctors in Michigan who were practicing FGM, and now a Virginia-based Imam has come out to advocate for the practice of mutilating little girls’ genitals to prevent them from becoming “hypersexual.”

Essentially, Imam Shaker Elsayed is encouraging parents to cut off their daughters’ “sexually sensitive” parts and reportedly claimed it is the “honorable thing to do if needed.”

Sources report Elsayed said, “Cut the tip of the sexually sensitive part of the girl so that she is not hypersexually active…in societies where circumcision of girls is completely prohibited, hypersexuality takes over the entire society, and a woman is not satisfied with one person or two or three.”

While many people like to say Islam has nothing to do with the surge of FGM occurring in the US, the fact remains that even the CDC has stated the rapid increase of FGM in the United States is due to the sheer number of immigrants coming over from countries where FGM is the norm. The vast majority of those countries are predominantly Muslim.

The practice of FGM is a cultural “value” the US simply should not and cannot stand behind, as it is a violation of human rights—a violent, gruesome practice that offers nothing to women but pain and suffering. FGM is the epitome of “violence against women,” yet the liberal media continues to whitewash this savage practice. When will enough be enough?
