It seems Canada’s education system’s not immune to brainwashing either, as their University of Regina offers a solution for men seeking redemption for their sacrilegious mistake of being too masculine—seriously. Within the university’s walls, they’ve erected a Catholic-esque confession box for their “Man Up Against Violence” campaign. Actually, according to the site, any student can utilize this little, vindication venue to wash away their “hypermasculinity”:
“The traveling Confessions of Masculinity Booth will be there! We have all reinforced hypermasculinity one way or another regardless of our gender!! …Come and share your sins so we can begin to discuss how to identify and change our ways!!!”
This “Man Up” effort was set up to “challenge mindsets and behaviors with regard to the social construction of masculinity and its relationship with violence,” the site advertises. “We work together to bring light to the causes of all types of violence related to gender, race, socio-economic status, ability level and beyond.” (Fortunately, the program ends March 31st, but what type of last effect will it have…?)
Yes, academia is great in terms of freely exchanging ideas, and even the organization might mean well. However, society’s edging toward a gender-free existence when it works to ultimately rub out masculinity. Rather than fighting against legitimate violence and male criminals (and/or female perpetrators), the school is using the “hypermasculinity” label to preach against normal masculinity. They’re seemingly taking advantage of academia and the philosophical freedoms that comprise that industry.
While it’ll probably remain a mystery as to whom will be sitting listening to students’ masculinity sins—possibly an SJW (Social Justice Warrior) Priest/Priestess (God forbid us to not be PC)—but the punishment might entail anti-male brainwashing via some video featuring Lena Dunham in the buff. (Don’t think impure thoughts at the sight of naked woman, you pig.)
If you’re in Canada and feeling masculine, best get yourself to the “traveling Confessions of Masculinity Booth” before April 1st! (Apparently, you might go to H-E-double, hockey sticks for those feelings.) Then again, you could just watch the following video featuring Factual Feminist Christina Hoff Sommers lecturing on the “War On Boys.”
